Opportunities created in the region for job seekers with Autism

A new employment program for the local region – the Talent Hub Albury, has created new job opportunities for local jobseekers on the Autism Spectrum.

Specialisterne has been working with multiple public service agencies to create job opportunities for people with Autism who may otherwise have been disadvantaged by the regular recruitment process.

Specialisterne recently facilitated a talent program for people with Autism with a government agency in Albury and collaborated with local disability employment service, The Personnel Group, to support the program at a local level. The program, the Talent Hub Albury is an employment program showcasing the skills and abilities of people on the Autism Spectrum.

Specialisterne Australia work with companies seeking to diversify their workforce and help find talented jobseekers with Autism looking for a career in a particular role or area. Specialisterne have worked with some of Australia’s most recognisable organisations, such as; Services Australia, Australian Taxation Office, Westpac, Australian Bureau of Statistics, Weir Minerals, SunPork Farms, and the Victorian Department of Health and
Human Services. Local disability employment service – The Personnel Group, was thrilled to be invited to help source candidates for this program.

A total of ten positions were available at the government employer’s Albury office with five of these positions filled by jobseekers with The Personnel Group. The successful candidates are now managing the input of data, such as client correspondence, scanning and sorting of
mail.
