Since 1986 The Personnel Group has been a leading and trusted Disability Employment Service provider helping people with a disability, injury or mental health condition find employment.

Today, we provide a more holistic range of services for our clients and the community, who may require more than employment services, by offering health, training, and community services, to help people to achieve their goals.

Disability Employment Service

Typically, you would need to be receiving income support payments via Centrelink, or have a current NDIS plan. We recommend contacting us to speak to a team member to discuss your circumstances and eligibility.

Disability Employment Services (DES) is a free service for those who are eligible.

There are several requirements to be eligible for DES service, including:

  • Have a permanent disability (sensory, physical, intellectual, neurological) or a mental health condition.
  • Be able to undertake work of at least 8 hours per week.
  • Receiving income support payments via Centrelink or have a current NDIS plan.

Simply contact us to talk to a DES team member who can chat about our service, eligibility, and requirements.
Call us on 1300 874 000 or click here to send us an email. We look forward to welcoming you to our service.

To transfer to another DES provider, you will need to call the National Customer Service Line on 1300 854 414 and let them know of this change.

Alternatively, we can assist you with this process. Simply contact us on 1300 874 000 and we’ll talk you through what you need to do.

If you’re living with a mental health condition you may be eligible for DES as this may make it difficult to find and keep a job. This includes living with anxiety or depression. We will require a letter from your GP as part of the onboarding process.

Pathway to Work

Pathway to Work (PtW) is a 12-month program designed to help NDIS recipients of working age who may need some help to plan their next step in seeking employment. Participants attend our PtW workshop where they will learn about topics that are designed to address key skills required by employers today. They will also learn everyday life skills to help them gain and keep a job.

The cost for Pathway to Work is determined by a participant’s NDIS plan and falls under two categories: Fixed rate and Variable rate. A fixed-rate charge of $35 an hour is an average price however, under some circumstances with larger class sizes, that rate can be lower.

Pathway to Work is delivered over 12 months with a minimum of one day a week to attend face-to-face workshops which will cover a range of practical topics to equip you with the necessary knowledge to help you get and keep a job. All sessions are delivered in a small group setting.

Anyone with an NDIS plan with appropriate funding (core funding and capacity building) is eligible for Pathway to Work. However, the program largely focuses on individuals 15 years or older because they are of working age.

Programs are run all throughout school terms and you can join up with your local group throughout the year.

The Personnel Group’s Employer Relationship Coordinator’s will source work experience for Pathway to Work participants based on what their interests are. Participants can also source their own work experience if they prefer.

Our team of psychologists can provide one on one, clinical services to clients aged 5 years and older.

We can deliver a range of assessments including cognitive/intellectual assessments for clients aged 3 years and older including WISC, WAIS, and WPPSI. We can also conduct autism diagnostic assessments.

NDIS appointments are priced as per the NDIS price guide for the relevant line item. Please speak with our health team for private referral costs and appointment availability.

To access services through your NDIS funding or paying privately, you do not need a referral. Please contact our Health team to book an appointment. You will need a GP referral if you are using a mental health care plan for sessions.

Our services are delivered in our clinics and we can also provide on-site support at school or via telehealth.  Unfortunately, we are not able to deliver services in participant’s homes.

Our Training division – MP Training and Recruitment, provides several nationally accredited training courses. Check here Accredited Training Courses | MP Training & Recruitment (mptrainingandrecruitment.com.au) to see which courses are currently on offer. These courses may be updated throughout the year.
