How Our NDIS Employment Services Can Help You Get a Job

2 min 49 sec

The main purpose of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is to help individuals with disabilities access the support they need to live independently and achieve their goals. In addition to providing support for daily living tasks, there are NDIS services that are geared towards helping people accomplish their employment-related objectives.

As a trusted disability employment service provider, The Personnel Group is committed to helping NDIS participants find and maintain fulfilling jobs. We are able to achieve this through our various services aimed at guiding and empowering NDIS participants as they enter the workforce.

NDIS Employment Support

Our NDIS Employment Support service is specifically designed to provide NDIS participants with personalised support to help them find a job. This service involves meeting with you as well as your family and care providers to get a better understanding of your strengths, challenges, and work aspirations.

Through regular meetings, we’ll create a personalised employment plan with tailored support services such as matching your skills and interests to a career path, preparing resumes and cover letters, job hunting, connecting with local employers, interview coaching, and gaining practical work skills.

School Leaver Employment Support

School Leaver Employment Support (SLES) is another NDIS service we provide for NDIS participants who are currently transitioning from school to the workplace. If you have an active NDIS plan with SLES funding, we can help you get ready to be part of the workforce by gaining the skills you need to find work.

We’ll help you achieve your career goals through our SLES training, which includes an individual plan that’s tailored according to your needs and objectives. Depending on your goals, we will provide work experience opportunities, industry site tours and access to our large local employer network.

In addition, we’ll help you develop the skills you need to become a successful member of the workforce. Some of these include managing your finances, addressing conflicts in the workplace, and looking after your mental health.

Pathway to Work

Another program that’s available for NDIS participants looking to find employment is Pathway to Work. Pathway to Work, which is an NDIS group program, is for NDIS participants who wish to develop pre-employment skills while they are still in school.

This program is designed to boost your confidence and help you gain practical life skills that are essential for entering the workforce. These can include being able to communicate properly, solving problems, working with teams, submitting job applications, getting ready for interviews, and improving your digital literacy.

Our Employment Success Stories

Here at The Personnel Group, we take great pride in being an integral part of the employment journey of our clients. One of them is Ethan, whose severe anxiety prevented him from finding and retaining stable employment. Through the support provided by our team, he was able to gain the skills and confidence he needed to secure an IT job.

Another individual we had the honour of helping was Yuri, who has cerebral palsy. Due to her condition, which affected her agility, mobility, and verbal communication, she often experienced discrimination in her search for work. Fortunately, through The Personnel Group, Yuri was able to connect with an employer who appreciated her value as a member of their team.
