The Personnel Group’s new Chief Executive Officer, John Gibbons, firmly believes that when given the opportunity, disadvantaged jobseekers quickly prove themselves to be great employees.

John takes the helm of The Personnel Group this month, and with 13 years’ industry experience behind him, he plans to deliver his vision across a number of areas including:

  • Influencing government social policy and program design,
  • Building stronger communities through supporting the most disadvantaged jobseekers to find work, and
  • Ensuring local employers are supported to embrace genuine diversity within their workforce.

During his time in the disability employment industry, John has seen a shift in employer attitudes.

“Employers that embrace a diverse and inclusive workplace experience the many benefits that come from giving a disadvantaged jobseeker an opportunity,” John said.

The Personnel Group provides employment support services to a range of disadvantaged jobseekers throughout regional NSW, VIC and the ACT.

“The Personnel Group’s geographical footprint provides a strong platform to influence government policy on regional employment issues, a perspective that is often overlooked in key government decisions,” John said.

“I want disability, diversity and inclusion to be better considered in policy making and program design.

“I have a natural alignment to our Purpose – Creating Equality through Employment, the individual, family and community benefit greatly when an individual has a job.”
