School Leaver Employment Support (SLES) – For NDIS participants

Transitioning from school to the workplace can be an exciting yet challenging time.  Our School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) provides specialised training for NDIS participants with SLES funding, to gain the necessary skills to gain employment.

The NDIS’ SLES program will prepare you for the workforce, as well as provide you with community involvement and work experience opportunities to help build your knowledge and skills. Whether you wish to engage for one, two, or three-times days a week, we can provide you with flexible options to assist you with achieving your goals.

Some highlights of our SLES training include:

  • An individual plan tailored to your needs and ambitions.
  • A variety of training formats – small group training sessions, site tours, guest speakers, community activities, and online and face-to-face knowledge development activities.
  • Creating your resume
  • Work experience and volunteer opportunities.
  • Short courses in areas that interest you!

You will also build your knowledge and skills across employment-related topics including:

  • Communication in a workplace
  • How to dress for success
  • Managing stress and looking after your mental health
  • Managing money
  • Digital Knowledge
  • Developing greater resilience and confidence
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution

Once we help you find a job that’s right for you, we can provide further support with workplace support to ensure you thrive in your new job.

SLES funding eligibility

To join the SLES program of the NDIS, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Have an active NDIS plan with specific funding for SLES
  • Be in your final years of school or have recently left school.
  • 15 – 22 years of age (age limits can vary).

If your circumstances do not meet the above requirements, we encourage you to contact us to discuss our other employment support programs for NDIS participants and people with a disability, injury, or mental health condition.
