Blake is more than your everyday assistant

Coming from a background where money was tight is a constant source of motivation for Blake.

Centrelink steered Blake towards an employment service provider, leading him to The Personnel Group.

Employment Consultant Courtney reached out to Dan Wallace at Your Everyday Gourmet butcher, who agreed to trial Blake part-time.

“We’ve got plenty of staff through The Personnel Group, who helped us through every step,” Dan says.

“Blake’s been with us for three years now. He started off doing 20 hours a week, then 30 hours a week.

“Now he’s full-time.”

With a full-time job and a quiet determination, Blake appreciates the opportunity to work with Dan and Your Everyday Gourmet.

He is now well on the path to a financially secure future.

“Well, I tried to go on Centrelink and that didn’t work out, so they put me on through the job agency, and here I am,” Blake says.

“The Personnel Group helped heaps because I didn’t have money at the time.

“They helped heaps.

“I’ve been working here for about three years now and enjoy it.

“I was sort of in a situation back in the day when we were struggling.

Dan has been impressed by Blake’s tenacity.

“Blake started off with 20 hours and now he’s bought a house,” Dan says.

“I feel like I’ve helped him along a bit to get to that stage, and I’m proud of him.”
