At The Personnel Group, we take pride in delivering professional services which are tailored and personalised for each individual.
Our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) services are delivered with a person-centred and strengths-based approach, so our experienced team can understand, address, and transform behaviours of concern, as well as prioritising the well-being of each individual. We focus on creating meaningful and sustainable changes that will improve the quality of life by fostering positive behaviours and reducing challenges, while enhancing family dynamics and minimising the need for restrictive practices.
A Compassionate, Individualised Approach
At the heart of PBS is a compassionate understanding of each individual’s unique needs, strengths, circumstances, and the factors influencing their behaviour.
Instead of viewing challenging behaviours in isolation, PBS seeks to uncover their underlying causes, such as unmet needs, communication difficulties, or environmental stressors. By understanding and addressing these root causes, we aim to create supportive conditions that empower individuals to thrive, build positive behaviours, and develop effective coping strategies that promote their overall wellbeing and resilience.
Evidence-Based, Proactive Strategies
PBS uses evidence-based practices to design tailored strategies that align with each person’s goals and aspirations. These strategies include:
- Developing new skills that enhance independence and communication.
- Modifying environments to reduce triggers and promote positive interactions.
- Implementing proactive and preventative interventions such as positive reinforcement and other evidence-based techniques to encourage and reinforce desirable behaviours.
A key aspect of our approach is minimising the need for restrictive practices. Our PBS Practitioners focus on creating strategies that promote safety, respect, and choice, ensuring individuals can experience independence and dignity while addressing behaviours of concern in the least intrusive manner.
Collaborative and Inclusive Support
Collaboration is a cornerstone of PBS at The Personnel Group. We work closely with families, carers, educators, and other support networks to ensure a consistent and unified approach. Involvement by all parties is crucial for the success of a Behaviour Support Plan.
By involving those closest to the individual, we create a supportive environment that allows for feedback, fosters trust, strengthens relationships, thereby maximising and enhancing the effectiveness of the strategies being implemented.
Services can be delivered at our clinics, in your homes, or at schools.
Empowerment and Resilience
Our focus is on empowering individuals to build resilience, achieve their personal goals, and engage meaningfully in daily life. This involves fostering positive relationships, maintaining stability through structured routines, and ensuring individuals feel heard and valued.
Monitoring and Adaptation
PBS is a dynamic process. We regularly monitor progress, collect feedback, and assess outcomes to ensure strategies remain effective and relevant. As the individual’s needs evolve, we adapt our approach to continue supporting their growth and success.
Our Commitment
At the Personnel Group, our commitment to PBS goes beyond addressing behaviours. We are dedicated to improving lives by creating opportunities for independence, strengthening relationships, and enhancing overall well-being. By minimising restrictive practices and focusing on strategies that uphold respect, dignity, and choice, we ensure the person’s rights are always prioritised.
With PBS, we aim to support individuals and their families in overcoming challenges, achieving their potential, and building a brighter, more fulfilling future within a safe environment.
PBS and NDIS Funding
Understanding your NDIS funding options is essential for accessing positive behaviour support NDIS services. That’s why we’re here to help you navigate your funding to access our comprehensive NDIS positive behaviour support services.
Services can be delivered through two ways:
- Improved Relationships funding line item.
This is a stated support on your NDIS plan. Improved Relationships (IR) funding may still appear in older or non-PACE NDIS plans. According to the NDIS, this funding aims to help participants develop positive behaviours and interact with others.
- Improved Daily Living funding line item.
Improved Daily Living (IDL) funds can be used for NDIS positive behaviour support under specific circumstances. We can provide services through IDL funding and help gather evidence to apply for dedicated Behaviour Support funding if needed to achieve your goals.
