At Personnel Training, we offer HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting as a blended learning model, being a combination of online and face-to-face learning. This course provides the skills and knowledge required to provide a First Aid response to a casualty in a range of situations within an education or care setting.

Training is conducted with both face to face and online learning.

The skills you obtain in this course are in line with the first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC).

This course is also available as an update/refresher for people already holding a current First Aid certificate.

A combination of online theory pre-learning is required to be completed prior to attending the practical face-to-face element.

  • As part of this course, you are required to complete the online pre-learning prior to attending the face-to-face session. The online pre-learning is completed off-site. Learners should allow 10 hours in total to complete the required readings and assessments. Evidence of completion must be provided on the day of face-to-face practical learning.

  • Students wishing to undertake an update/refresher of their course must also complete the online pre-learning activities. A copy of a current HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (or equivalent) will be required.

  • Each candidate must demonstrate skills in an environment that provides realistic in-depth, scenarios and simulations to assess candidates’ skills and knowledge. Simulated assessment environments must simulate real-life situations where these skills and knowledge would be performed, with all the relevant equipment and resources that a workplace or community environment would provide.
